Surviving The Drought

I can still clearly recall the time when we experienced a deficiency in water supply, that is called drought. It lasted for about a few months and we really had a hard time coping up because we have just survived the typhoon that first hit us. Drought occurs generally when a region receives consistently below average precipitation. Although droughts can persist for several years, even a short, intense drought can cause significant damage and harm to the local economy. It was also a time when I just started gardening in our house and It was very hard to use the water wisely because some of the flowering plants that I have needs ample of water.

During those times, I am thinking of using artificial plants on my landscapes instead of the natural ones, because of the fact that these artificial plants can not be affected by any calamities. I then decided to buy a drought tolerant plantings which are mounted in a commercial grade high density foam and topped with an assortment of decorative gravel and river stones. They are sold online at a reputable site and they also delivers or ships within 2-3 business days. ArtificialPlantsUnlimited.com is the online site where I bought those plantings, they also have skilled local artists who are making each arrangement to be slightly different, making sure applications with multiple plantings look as varied and realistic as possible.

Many natural plant species, such as cacti, have adaptations such as reduced leaf area and waxy cuticles to enhance their ability to tolerate drought. Gardening is not an easy hobby at all, yes it is fun but you must also exert effort and spend your time with it. As they say No pain, No gain. That is actually true, because you have to work for everything that you wanted in life. There are those easy ways but I assure you, in the end you will not be happy or be satisfied of the outcome.

Home Decor with Flower Mats

Last weekend, my family and I are strolling at the mall and while my son and husband are very busy at the gaming center I decided to visit some garden and flower shop. I am looking for some tools and fertilizers that I could use for my gardening. I was mesmerized at one of their product which I thought is a natural flower mat which I could use for landscaping purposes, but it turned out that it is an artificial indoor flower grass mat with a bright and vibrant buds. They have daisies, yellow daffodils, crocus flowers, pink sprengeri and many more flowers at display to choose from. The store owner said that it is also possible to mix and match these flower mats to create an exciting floral display at home.

Before leaving the store I made sure that I have purchased everything that I needed as well as the flower mats that I will surely be using at our humble home's doorstep. I am still thinking where I could place the other flower mats as a new centerpiece. I wanted to create an artificial butterfly mini garden on one part of our living room, but I am not sure if it will look good or else our living room would look over crowded, which I do not want to happen. I am really in a hurry to go home at that time but my son still wants to play at the amusement center, we stayed for another hour and then went straight home.

I tried to put the mats at one corner of the living room but it doesn't coordinate with the color and the theme on our living room, so instead I tried it at the porch and it suits very well to the environment. I also added some natural plants on a pot so it will look more realistic. My husband was very happy to see that our porch look better with the artificial flower mats because it turned colorful and livelier. I felt proud and contented knowing that my husband appreciates what I love doing.

A Day at Mogambo Spa

Going to a spa after a stressful week can be very invigorating. There are actually a lot of benefits that we can get in these spa houses. Contrary to the general consensus, going to a spa is not a waste of money and time. A trip to a spa is not extravagance but instead it is a great way to De-stress. In this day and age where stress looms every second, you certainly need to have a short break to get away. A therapeutic massage will definitely relax and soothe you. you can just immerse yourself in a hot tub or a sauna or steam shower to wash away the worries even for an hour or so.

Therapeutic massages, facials, manicures and pedicures have it's psychological benefits. It can stimulate you mentally and physically. It can even increase your confidence and self esteem. It can also improve blood circulation and manage blood pressure. A body and mind that are free from tension and stress will be able to cope well with any sleeping order. One of the nicest spa that I recently discovered is the Mogambo Springs at Plantation Bay in Cebu Philippines. It is a health and relaxation spa unlike any other. It has keep up with it's tradition of offering simple pleasures with warm and friendly service. The spa's setting is uniquely charming, designed to resemble an 18th century Tokugawa Japanese village with it's own thundering waterfalls, creek and fog-like mist. Red Wood commercial planters can be seen on every part of the spa house.

They also offer detox programs that helps cleanse and purify the body, mind and spirit. You could free yourself from toxins brought by an unhealthy diet, the environment and life's pressure. Always remember that taking good care of your body and mind can help deter aging and will definitely help you look and feel young.

Decorating Your Home with Artificial Fruits

Artificial plants are always the best, aside from the fact that they do not ever wither and die, another thing is that they do not have strong smell that can irritate one's allergic nose. They also do not need much of your attention and care, unlike the real ones do. With real plants, you have to make sure that you water them everyday with only the amount they needed for growth because if you put too much water they may also die. You also make sure to put them under the sun or to places where they can get enough sunlight, and from time to time dig some soil around it to make sure that the roots can also get some air, and lastly is to fertilize the plant for optimum growth.

Growing real plants can be really tedious, that is why for some people they rather buy those artificial ones in the market. Artificial fruit are also great for displays at home, especially because they do not spoil and rotten after a few days. Fruit table arrangements have been said to inspire budding artist painters since Middle Ages. So, why not use fake fruit as a three dimensional extension of this timeless trend? A simple display of fake mangoes in a tall glass vase can make a very notable design at home and commercial spaces by adding dimension through vivid shapes and tones. It is not just a trend but little by little these artificial plants and fruits became part of our homes.

Artificial plants, flowers, and fruits can give a very different feel to any environment. We give vitality and color to a room that can be very cold, especially if you put it in key locations such as a coffee or dining table, a corner of the room or the eaves of the window. You can find these artificial plants at any supermarkets, garden centers, department stores, florist and even online. The quality will depend largely on how they can look natural or false. Given their considerable length, it is worth investing a little more.

Artificial Flower Arrangement: Stress Relievers at Work

We all have to work everyday to earn, so that we could support our needs and wants in life. Although the office can really be toxic and stressful sometimes because of the different demands and tasks that we get from our bosses and clients, we still have to make sure to live up and meet their expectations. In times like these, that we feel a little pressured, it's always good to have a breather or take a short walk outside just to refresh yourself. That is also one of the many reasons why offices have decided to add some plants, both aesthetic and live plants to have a much happy environment to their employees. They are an important element in providing a pleasant, tranquil environment where people can work or relax.

As humans, we are consciously and sub-consciously affected by everything that touches our five senses. Our moods and behaviors are sometimes altered by the aromas that surround us- the artwork we gaze at and the plants that populate our interior spaces. Tending for that potted plant or even a simple artificial flower arrangement not only helps you chill out during a hectic work day, but can also increase focus and productivity- allowing you to accomplish more with less stress. Findings also show that when a plant is added to a room or office, the relative humidity rose significantly, bringing the room into the ideal comfort range. They also reduce airborne dust levels, air temperatures and background noise levels. In short, every plant is a miniature air-conditioning and purification system.

All of these are the advantages of having plants at work, although there are disadvantages but they are always outnumbered by these advantages. Please do keep in mind that we need these plants not only at home or at work but also in our everyday lives. So make sure to take care of them, in that way we are securing the future of our sons and daughters as well as our grandchildren.
