Michael W. Folonis Architects (MWFA) has won a National Healthcare Design Award from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Academy of Architecture for Health (AAH) last 2011,  for the design of the UCLA Outpatient Surgery and Oncology Center in Santa Monica, California. This is under the "unbuilt category". It was also adopted by the same institution. 

If you have been inside the center you would surely amazed how they planned and create a spectacular layout using day lighting and sensitivity of  the quality and character of light. Not to mentioned the boxwood Hedge Mat Square Tiles hanging on the wall of the lobby. How could not this lovely design won any distinction? They incorporate nature and lighting to make it more welcoming and comfortable to every customer that are confined in these health center. Their design is also applicable even at home.
