Thinking Out Of the Box

 

Recycling waste and other materials is usually being ignored by most household. The reason behind maybe it's because it will take a lot of effort and time. But recycling is actually one way of saving our environment in having too much wastage. At home, we would usually find things and other materials to be recycled rather than to be thrown away. I could still recall the first time that I was able to recycle a material. It was a one fine Saturday morning, while I was sipping a cup of coffee in our patio. I was thinking of other things to do after maintaining the garden. So I went to the basement to check stuffs that we do not use anymore. I wanted to make something out of any used or old materials that we have. Then I saw these old watering can that we hid a couple of months ago because we already installed a watering system in the garden.

Then, I immediately took it out and had the idea to make it as a planter. I checked videos and other blogs to help me in making my first ever watering can turned into a planter.  After finishing with the cutting and adding decors to the watering can, I first thought of putting a natural floral arrangement. but, I wanted to display my work indoors, so I used the country delight orange peony arrangement which I bought at a silk flower shop. The flower arrangement is composed of peony and ranunculus. It is a great mix of pink, white and orange flowers, making it perfect for any occasion or season. So, I could definitely use these flower arrangement all year long without any worries. I am very happy on how my work has turned out to be. Both my husband and son were very proud of what I did. So, we have decided as a family to recycle waste and other materials instead of just throwing them out.

Always remember that we have the freedom to choose whether we prefer to save and recycle or simply throw and ignore stuffs that we do not need anymore. But also try to think about the after effects of our actions. Let us try to make something out of our waste materials. In the past, waste was viewed as disposable, but today, it is increasingly recognized as a resource.

Sparing Our Time To Visit Our In-Laws

 

It's been over a month since we last visited our in-laws. So my husband and I decided to visit his side of the family first this coming weekend. We already called her mom to inform her that we will be visiting. She said she will be preparing all the favorite food of our son. From the looks of it, she is really excited to see her grandson. My husband and I also talked about what things or food we will be preparing for the said visit. After a short meeting, we both decided to go buy the ingredients and other things we will be needing for the visit. We went to the nearest mall and while we are walking towards the grocery area, I saw a beautiful flower arrangement on one of their flower and gift shop.

I told my husband that I wanted to buy the floral arrangement for her mom. So we stop by to ask the florist about the flowers. At first, we thought that it is a fresh flower but when we ask the florist, she said that it is an artificial flower. We were very surprised that the wild rose janeice arrangement are all silk flowers. But we still bought it anyway. I know for sure that her mom would totally love it. Plus the fact, that these wild rose janeice arrangement will not wither and die in just a couple of days. She will be enjoying the vibrant beauty of these silk arrangements for years. Let us always remember to put importance on our parents. Because we will not be who we are today, if not for them. Visiting them once in a while would actually mean a lot to them. Whatever happens, they are the person we could always count on and the first person we run to in times of difficulties. So, let us also spare some of our time and share our happy moments with them.

Redecorating Our Room For The New Baby

 

My husband and I planned to redecorate our room for the coming of the new baby. Things will be a bit different this time since there would be 3 of us sharing the same room. We have to change the decorations, starting from the ceiling up to the walls and the floors. We have to make sure that our baby will be safe and secure all the time. The birth of our second child is only a few months away, and when that time comes I know that I will no longer have time to do other things because my focus will be on our new baby. For feeding convenience instead of putting our new born baby on a different room. Waking up in the middle of the night, and checking her from time to time will not be an issue or a problem anymore, since she will be staying by my side.

We were both very excited in redecorating our room. I wanted it to look very cute with a touch of pink, but  I must also put in mind that safety is our number one priority and things should be organized in a way that is convenient for us also. I got an advice from a fellow mommy and a good friend of mine as well that we should not overcrowd the room with baby stuff. We can start with the basics like adding a crib, changing the table, dresser, rocking chair, along with the bedding and other furniture as well. Adding floral arrangement could be great too. I was thinking of getting fresh floral arrangements for the coming of the new baby. But I chose to get the silk flowers instead.
